GENAGRID - Bioinformatic services for genetic association studies using high-performance grid computation

From 01-12-2008 to 30-11-2012

Description

The  goals of this project are (1) a platform for the automated, text-mining based construction of biomedical knowledge bases, (2) efficient inference methods for probabilistic knowledge bases and Bayesian models, (3) decision support tools for genomic study design, (4) general purpose and dedicated statistical methods for the analysis of relevance of variables, (5) interpretational tools for genomic data analysis, (6) services for the parallelization/”griding” of the „text-mining”, inference, inductive methods, (7) pharmacogenomic discovery tools to support rational drug design by probabilistic fusion of information from chemoinformatics and GA research, (8) biomedical tools to support (8a) clinical genetic consultancy based on commercially avaialable personal genotypic information, (8b) to support of the design of disease-specific and general genotyping kits with focus on the Hungarian/EEU/EU population, and (8c) to support the principled information dissemination related to commercially avaialable genotypic information to balance public awareness and to increase their potential preventive effects. We integrate them in (9) GENAGRID, a high-performance grid hosting databases, knowledge-bases, services, and methods for genomic R&D activities and applications.
