IMPACT - Improved Polymer Advanced Control

From 01-01-1999 to 31-12-2001

Description

IMPACT, the new development in the field of Model Predictive Control, achieves process control and optimisation in the polyethylene-, polypropylene- and PET-industry. On the one side, the variance of the production quality is minimized. On the other hand, the change-over time between products is shortened by an optimal choice of trajectory. Because the product specifications are very tight, the material produced during the transient from one product to another is waste material. A reduction of change-over time thus leads to savings in the use of raw materials, a reduction of emissions, waste production and energy and an increase in overall efficiency.
