FAST - Advanced Signal Processing for Ultra Fast Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopic Imaging and Training

From 01-12-2006 to 30-11-2010

Description

Investigating and developing cutting-edge MRSI software – eMRSI – for quantitation and imaging of metabolites. This encompasses 1) A ‘Virtual Scanner’ capable of simulating MRSI scan protocols and metabolite signals with Quantum Mechanics and Scanner  Physics, 2) Statistical Semi-Parametric Signal Processing and corresponding Experimental Design, 3) A User Interface enabling Distance-Interaction.
* Investigating and developing new, ultra-fast Data Acquisition, at the forefront of MR- methodology.
* Establishing MRSI as non-invasive biochemical probe for 1) diagnosing/combating major diseases and monitoring therapy (drugs, irradiation, etc.), on multi-modal clinical platforms, and 2) drug development.
* Closing the know-how gap between research and clinic.
