Biomedical Data Processing

Biomedical data processing research is performed within the domain of (multi-)linear algebra, (non)linear signal analysis, classification and machine learning, and is particularly focused on the development of numerically reliable and robust algorithms for improving and automating medical diagnostics. In this domain the group has built up an international reputation (400 journal papers). In the field of (multi)linear algebra, the Total Least Squares (TLS) optimization technique has been investigated, as well as further generalizations and applications.

Research expertise:

  • Multi-parametric MRI
  • (Mobile) EEG
  • Epilepsy Monitoring
  • Tensor Applications
  • Neonatal Brain Monitoring
  • Sleep Monitoring

Research team is lead by Prof. Sabine Van Huffel, Prof. Lieven De Lathauwer and Prof. Alexander Bertrand. Click here to see other team members.
