Who am I?

Begül Bilgin

I am a postdoctoral researcher at the COSIC research group in ESATKU Leuven and postdoctoral fellow at the Flemish Research Foundation (FWO). My main research interests are countermeasures against physical attacks and designs and hardware implementations of lightweight symmetric-key algorithms.

I completed my PhD in a joint program at  KU Leuven (Belgium) and UTwente (the Netherlands) with the supervision of Svetla Nikova, Vincent Rijmen, and Pieter H. Hartel. My dissertation is entitled "Threshold Implementations: As Countermeasure Against Higher-Order Differential Power Analysis".

I obtained my bachelor's degree in mathematics from Middle East Technical University, Turkey in 2008. In 2010, I received my master's degree in cryptography under the supervision of Ali Doğanaksoy with a thesis on generating functions and their applications.
