The EMBS-Benelux chapter of the IEEE
Biomedical Engineering
is a field of growing activities and interest worldwide.
A major part of these activities fit in the scope
of the IEEE-Engineering in Medicine and Biology
Society (EMBS)
of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers
(IEEE)
a world-wide organization.
Also in the Benelux, biomedical engineering is
an important field with high potential for growth
and productive cooperation between universities
and companies. In this context, we took the initiative
to start a new chapter of the IEEE-EMBS in order
to bring together the people who are interested
and active in this field within the Benelux.
In our opinion this is a timely initiative. All
people in the Benelux active and/or interested in
Biomedical Engineering, not limited to IEEE members,
are welcome to participate in our activities.

MISSION
The Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society
of the IEEE advances the application of engineering
sciences and technology to medicine and biology,
promotes the profession, and provides global leadership
for the benefit of its members and humanity by disseminating
knowledge, setting standards, fostering professional
development, and recognizing excellence.
