Title: Power generating kites in a system perspective - the Leuven-Heidelberg viewpoint
Authors: : Karin Lindholm
Duration: approx. 30 min
Abstract:
This talk aims at giving a system perspective to powerkites and at
showing how it may be used in optimisation.
The issue of system perspective concerns the questions: How does a
realisation of our model affect the outer world and how does the outer
world affect the realisation? Having produced a functioning
physical-mathematical model, have you thought about how many things
still remain to be considered?
Mainly, these are issues that should or must be treated separately,
but a few of them can however also be subjects for meaningful
optimisation. Two such factors are economics and wind availability,
which I have used for finding the optimum rated power for the
generator in a Leuven-Heidelberg powerkite plant.
