About IEEE
The Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE - pronounced as ‘eye-triple-e’) is the worlds largest technical professional society. IEEE houses 360000 members, engineers and scientists active in the fields of electrotechnics, computer science, engineering and other related disciplines. More than 60000 of these members are engineering students. Together all these members are a driving force for technological advances. They are shaping both todays world and the future.
To accomplish its goals, IEEE is active in 150 countries. More than 1200 Student Branches make sure IEEE is present in universities and bring soon-to-be engineers and scientists in contact with IEEE. Furthermore, IEEE publishes more than 30% of the scientific literature in its area of interest. Educational programs are provided to keep the knowledge and expertise of IEEE members on the level of state-of-the-art.
