Soirée Technique: Cyber Security
On Thursday May 5th the IEEE Student Branch organizes its sixth Soirée Technique. The theme is Cyber Security. The intention here is that after this evening we, as engineers, know more about cyber security than we can read in the papers or an average person in a bar.
In an era of increasing digitalization, the use and transfer of data is abundant. Not only the data itself has a value, but also the user information can be used or misused. How can we secure these vast amounts of data, and how can we secure our own privacy ?
During the Soirée Technique, Information security will be introduced by prof Preneel. Hardware security for server parks will be discussed by Tom Van Den Eynde (Verizon), after which prof Díaz will demonstrate how private information is dispersed through our digitalized activities...
After the Soirée Technique, there will be a reception for all participants. Participation is free but you are required to register online with the form at the bottom of this page.
