Opening Activity 2011 : Count-Up!

Monday, 21 February 2011, IEEE Student Branch Leuven organizes its 2nd Semester OPENING ACTIVITY. Part of the activities is the Final Counter Competition, which will be held during 2 weeks. Estimate how much people will pass the counter in 2 weeks while the current count is constantly visible in ESAT's income hall. The best guess to the final count will win a new Ipod Nano!

So: Start checking how often people pass the entrance hall. Should it be modeled by a Poisson process, or is an Euler statistic a better approximation? Please have a look at the rules at the bottom of this page.

The winners will be announced at the nearest furture IEEE activitity. If the winner is not present, the second in rank will be given the prize.

We hope to see lots of students and personnel of ESAT during the opening activity!
