Soirée Technique : Electric vehicles
On Thursday February 25th the IEEE student branch organizes its third Soirée Technique. The theme is electric vehicles. After two successful editions, we want to give you more of these evenings every year with seminars on a popular scientific or technical subject. The intention here is that after this evening we, as engineers, know more about the subject than we can read in the papers or an average person at cafe.
The best known example is the hybrid car from Toyota: the Prius. On this Soirée Technique we study the Prius under the hood. What technology is used? How did the design engineers of Toyota come to this design? How does the evolution of the Prius look like?
Another often heard argument against electric cars is that they are not so environmentally friendly because of their batteries. Is this really so? Umicore will talk about state-of-the-art recycling of batteries.
After the Soirée Technique, there will be a reception for all participants. Participation is free but you are required to register online with the form at the bottom of this page.
