IEEE Benelux Sailing Weekend

During the weekend of May 1st-2nd-3rd, 2009 the IEEE Benelux Sailing Weekend is held in Heeg, Friesland. The organisation is in the hands of our colleagues in Eindhoven and all Student Branches in the Benelux are invited. You don’t need to be an IEEE-member to participate in this weekend. You also don’t need any sailing experience at all, not being afraid of a little water is sufficient.

The price is 100€ for the IEEE-members and 120€ for the not IEEE-members. All costs are included herein. The transportation to the location will be done by carpooling, drivers get the cost for gas reimbursed.

We will stay in camping farm ‘De Trije Peppels’ at the Heegermeer (http://www.trijepeppels.nl). It is a large farm with 5 large sleeping halls. Further there is a large kitchen, lounge and large eat and party room. Outside there is a large terrace and a grass field to play football. There are no bed goods so you should take a sleeping bag, fitted sheet and a pillow with you.

There is place for 68 people. What concern the sailing location, Heegermeer is well suited. For sailing there are luxurious polyvalks (4/5 persons), completely equipped and with motor (www.hoora.nl). They are safe and (quiet) unsinkable.
