IEEE Benelux Sailing Weekend

The IEEE Benelux Student Branches start the academic year in style. During the weekend of September 21-22-23, 2007 the IEEE Benelux Sailing Weekend is held in Heeg, Friesland. The organisation is in the hands of our collaegues in Eindhoven and all Student Branches in the Benelux are invited. You don’t need any sailing experience at all, not being afraid of a little water is sufficient.

If you want to join this weekend, you'll have to pay 70€. All costs are included herein. The IEEE Student Branch Leuven will provide an extra funding for its IEEE members of 10€. The transportation to the location will be done by carpooling, drivers get the cost for gas reimbursed.

We will stay in camping farm ‘De Trije Peppels’ at the Heegermeer (http://www.trijepeppels.nl). It is a large farm with 5 large sleeping halls. Further there is a large kitchen, lounge and large eat and party room. For sailing there are luxurious polyvalks (4/5 persons), completely equipped and with motor. (www.hoora.nl)

Program

• Friday: Everybody is welcome starting Friday noon. Sailing can start in the afternoon and in the evening there is a dinner and a party. Depending on the availability of the drivers, there are several possibilities to leave in Leuven during the afternoon.
• Saturday: after breakfast we go sailing, you have the possibility to make a large sailing tour to Stavoren or Sneek. In the evening you can rest at the after-sail-party. The early-birds can admire the sunrise from a sailing boat.
• Sunday: after breakfast we can again sail. Afterwards we pack and clean and by nightfall we return to Leuven.
