Wednesday December 6, 2006, during our Job Fair, the IEEE Student Branch Leuven announced the winners of our local Student Paper Contest 2006. This year we could send 2 papers to the Region 8 Student Paper Contest, so there are also 2 winners for our local contest. These winners were selected by our international review committee:
- First Prize
Wilm Decré, "Application of a Generic Contraint-Based Programming Approach to an Industrially Relevant Robot Task with Geometric Uncertainties" - Second Prize
Jan Verveckken, "Control of Series Inverter of UPFC for Power Flow Control"
The first prize paper received a gift certificate worth 100€, the second prize paper one for 50€. The prizes were presented by Prof. A. Oosterlinck, ererector of the K.U.Leuven. Both papers will be representing the K.U.Leuven in the Region 8 Student Paper Contest. Update 23/09/2007 Congratulations to Wilm and Jan for successfuly defending their papers in the IEEE Region 8 Student Paper Contest in Warsaw. Wilm Decré received the first place for his paper and Jan Verveckken the third place! A magnificent accomplishment.
