IEEE Benelux Sailing Weekend

During the weekend of March 24-25-26, 2006 the IEEE Benelux Sailing Weekend is held in Heeg, Friesland. The organisation is in the hands of our collaegues in Eindhoven and all Student Branches in the Benelux are invited. You don’t need sailing experience at all, not being afraid of a little water is sufficient.

If you want to join this weekend, you'll have to pay 70€. All costs are included herein, except transportation to Heeg. The IEEE Student Branch Leuven will provide an extra funding for its IEEE members of 10€. The transportation to the location will be done by carpooling.

We will stay in a youth hostell at the Heegermeer, with landing stages for the boats. There is a large kitchen, lounge, bar and 4-, 6- en 8-person bedrooms. For sailing there are luxurious polyvalks (4/5 persons), completely equipped and with motor. (www.hoora.nl)

Program

• Friday: arrival of the participants during the day. Starting from 19h00 the boats are available. Friday night there is a diner and afterwards a party in the lounge. Probably we will depart in the late afternoon so that we will arrive in the evening.
• Saturday: after breakfast we go sailing, you have the possibility to make a large sailing tour to Stavoren or Sneek. In the evening you can rest at the after-sail-party.
• Sunday: after breakfast we can again sail until 18h00. Then we have to pack and return home.
