IEEE Benelux gathering: Adventure Weekend

In the weekend of April 8-9-10 the IEEE student Branch Leuven organizes a Benelux Meeting where all active members of student branches and GOLD in the Benelux are invited. This weeken is the perfect opportunity to exchange experiences, make contacts and above all have some fun.

Location for this event is domain Zilvermeer in Mol. We're staying in a bungalow with room for 40 peoples. This will be our base from where we will undertake the numerous activities we have scheduled.

The fee to participate in this weekend is set at 80€. This includes housing, activities, food and drinks. We advise individual Student Branches also to ask for sponsorship with IEEE for their participating members. This way the costs can be held at a minimum. The number of participants for this weekend is limited to 40 peoples. Because it is our intention to bring together as many Student Branches as possible, the first 4 registered participants of each Student Branch are guaranteed a spot. Registration is possible by sending an email to the . The deadline for registration is March 25. Only IEEE members can participate.

Program

On Friday April 8 in the afternoon we have plannen a company visit to the SCK (Belgian Nuclear Research Centre) where we will visit two reactors. The number of participants for this visit is limited to 20 peoples, so register as soon as possible. Because of security measures, participants will have to send us some information so we can get access to the domain.

Those who can't join the company visit, can arrive on Friday evening or Saturday morning. Friday evening is reserved to get to know each other and bond. As an ancient Belgian tradition, there will be a supply of the better beer. Also the wines we professionally evaluated in our winecourse will be available.

On Saturday April 9 the real adventure starts. On a hight track we will see wich is the most fearless Student Branch. The disputes we will surely have afterwards will be settled on the paintball course.

On Sunday April 10 the adventure continues. Then we will go mountainbiking, wall climbing, speleobox,...

If the weather is bad, we can always go to a subtropical swimming paradise.
