Dr. Julia Sternberg received her diploma  in  mathematics  and  physics  at  the  University  of  Dresden.  Three  years  later  she received her  Ph.D.  from  the  Institute  of  Scientific  Computing  at  the  same  university   on  the  topic  of   second  order  memory  efficient  optimal  control  methods  with  application  in  algorithmic  differentiation.  Since  then  she performed research   at  the  Humboldt  University  in Berlin,  Hamburg  University. In 2011 she joined  the Highwind team  where  she focused her research on optimal  control, memory  efficient  approaches  for  algorithmic  differentiation, PDE  constrained  optimization, and  robust  optimal  control.
