Q1: Where is the encrypted text that contain my messages stored?
A: On the webserver you configured in the options (Right-Click on Scramble! icon -> Settings -> TinyLink (Change Server). You can also download the source from here and assume control of your own server
Q2: How do I import new Public Keys?
A: (1) Right-click on Scramble! icon -> Key Chain... (2) Click on the ‘+’ button under the contacts column. A new dialog on the right is made visible to allow the search of the key on the MIT public key server.
Q3: How do I create New Group/Add contacts to the group?
A: (1) Right-click on Scramble! icon -> Key Chain... (2) Click on the ‘+’ button under the groups column to create a new group. (3) To Add contacts to the group, select the contacts from the contacts column and Drag and Drop to the group.
Q4: My Encryption does not work, on the Text Editor returns FAIL all the time, but my key chain displays my keys??
A: If you see this it means the unrestricted policy files for the JVM you are using have not been installed, required by the BouncyCastle library. You can find these at http://java.sun.com at the same place as you downloaded the JDK/JRE (they're normally at the bottom of the page). Download the zip file Sun provide, follow the instructions, making sure you are installing the files into the JVM you are running with, and you should find the exception stops happening..
Note: You can also use the bash script on the Settings -> Advanced menu, but be aware to have the latest version of the JVM.
Q5: The encryption takes for ever, when replacing the plaintext by the tiny link uri? The same happens to decryption the link that I have access?
A: If this happens it means that either your trusted server is down, or you are not connected to the internet (while encrypting).
Q6: Scramble stop encryption or decrypting.... It seams that the plugin died?
A: There is actually two reasons for this, one easier to solve than the other: (1) If you are using Ubuntu or any other Linux Kernel that makes use of OpenJDK rather than sun-JDK then you need to replace OpenJDK by the sun-JDK. Why this happens? Because OpenJDK does not yet support Liveconnect which is used in Scramble! To solve this, please follow the steps here. (2) If you are not affected by point (b) then, this happens it means that the Java object crashed (thank you firefox - being updated). You just need to close Firefox and restart again.
Q7: What about if I don't want to deal with Keys and Encryption?
A: If you want to make your life easier, don't want to rely on high security such as encrypted data, you can try For Human Eyes Only (FHEO) extension.
