Currently I am a PhD researcher at the COSIC research group at KU Leuven in Belgium under Prof. Bart Preneel . I'm funded by a PhD grant from the Flemish Research Foundation (FWO aspirant). Previously, I completed my Masters in Computer Science from Saarland University in Germany. Follow the links below to learn more about me and what I do. Research My research interests are in the area of cryptography and particulary: - Symmetric encryption and authentication modes of operation - Hash functions - Authenticated encryption schemes - Provable security Currently, NIST is holding a competition for a new hash function standard SHA-3. The submitted candidate hash functions made publicly available can be found on the SHA-3 Zoo. The SHA-3 Zoo is a great tool attempting to provide an overview of the design, cryptanalysis and performance of all submissions.
The COSIC research team with Sebastiaan Indesteege as a main designer and Elena Andreeva, Christophe De Cannière, Orr Dunkelman, Emilia Käsper, Svetla Nikova, Bart Preneel and Elmar Tischhauser as contributors proposed the hash function LANE for the SHA-3 NIST competition. LANE is secure, easy to understand, elegant and flexible in implementation hash function. It reuses components from the AES block cipher. LANE can take advantage of the parallelism offered by modern high-performance CPUs, but also scales down to embedded systems. Another advantages of LANE is the fact that its design is supported by a clear design rationale and a comprehensive security analysis. More information on LANE is available here . Publications
