Currently I am a post-doctoral researcher at Gradiant, the Galician Research and Development Center in Advanced Telecommunications. My homepage at Gradiant can be found here.

In the past I have been a doctoral student, as we al post-doctoral researcher at the COSIC research group. This is part of the Department of Electrical Engineering (ESAT), one of the departments of the Faculty of Engineering of the K.U.Leuven (Belgium). From October 2008 till September 2012, my funding came from a PhD grant from the Flemish Research Foundation (FWO Aspirant). Inside COSIC, I was part of the Privacy and Identity Management Group.

My research is focused on Privacy Enhancing Technologies. Amongst them I am mostly interested in:

 Anonymous communications

 Anonymity metrics

 Location Privacy

 Private Secure Storage

 Privacy by design methodologies

My doctoral thesis "Design and analysis methods for privacy technologies"

(Advisors: Prof. Bart Preneel and Prof. Claudia Diaz), received two distinctions:

- summa cum laude with the congratulations of the board of examiners (only awarded in exceptional circumstances, at most 5% of the doctorates in engineering at K.U.Leuven)

- winner of the 2012 ERCIM WG STM Best Ph.D. Thesis Award
